Through the Years
Denise Harlow, CCAP, Chief Executive Officer, Community Action Partnership
Brandy Strauf, CAPCO Family Development Director
Cortland County Community Action Program (CAPCO) has had a Community Action Angels program for over thirteen years. This program compliments everything we do at our agency. Community Action Angels is based on the Community Action promise that we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other. Community Action Angels is truly people helping people in our community. The program gives all community members an opportunity to give back and is designed to help all those in need. It allows us to provide supports and resources to those needing it without any income eligibility restrictions. This is a circle of giving that embodies the spirit of hope and makes our community a better place to live!
Annette Finch, Director of Community Services
I have been employed by Community Action of Orleans & Genesee for 41 years.
During my 41 years I have been well aware of the ups and downs of funding and programs being defunded, but when I was introduced to Pat Standish and the Community Action Angels network my work at Community Action changed for the better, the network provided necessary tools and training to make me and the agency stronger in our quest to develop a core of volunteers, build partnerships, increase funding and develop programs that help low-income and working poor reach successful outcomes.
This Community Action Angels Advisory Board is the greatest and most valuable resource for our agency.

My family and I are so grateful for your giving and heart-warming ways of help. Who can really know the future? I did not see my family or myself as beneficiaries of all you do. Yet when we needed you, there you were unconditionally. No one chooses to walk a hard road and my family had a particularly hard time over the past year. Thank you for all your support and encouragement that personally helped me find the energy to get through dark times, to invest in a hopeful outlook. I think you folks are keeping the soul of our community intact, by uniting the strengths of people who call New York State home
